Manual Tool Change

Manual tool change spindle designs are available from 0.4 to 40 hp in speeds up to 40,000 rpm.

This type of spindle features a spring collet-type tool retention system. The clamping system uses a collet nut to compress a collet and secure the tool in the tool holder. Tool setup is done ‘manually’ at the machine.

Collet clamping system offer excellent tool rigidity at lower speeds and are less expensive to maintain. From a machining viewpoint PDS Manual Tool Change spindles deliver high-performance and widely used for applications on machines working wood, plastic, aluminium, light alloy, glass and marble. These spindles are suitable for milling, boring, routing, grinding, polishing, debur, and more.
